An Answer to Prayer

Have you ever found yourself praying that God would send someone to a lost family member, a lost friend, or just someone lost that you care about who has shut you out? Have you ever prayed that God would work in someone to share the gospel to that person? “God, they won’t listen to me, would you please just send someone?” Or maybe, “Oh God, I’m just not around this person, would you please send someone to share Christ with them?” How often have you petitioned God to send a faithful man or woman to befriend that person you love so dearly? How often have you prayed for that person to show up? To be obedient? To love God more than they love the praise of men? I know I pray for that person.

Have you ever considered that someone might be praying the same thing for someone who lives in your town? Have you considered that there is someone, somewhere with a lost family member in your school, workplace, coffee shop just praying that someone with the gospel would be faithful? Have you ever thought that you might be the answer to their prayer?

Resolve to be the answer to their prayer. Don’t fear man, but love God and love souls. As much as you long for someone to be bold and to speak the truth to your loved one, be that person for someone else. As Paul told Timothy, “preach the word; be ready in season and out of season… do the work of an evangelist” (2 Tim 4:2, 5).

  1. Oh, such a good point! Thank you for giving me much to consider. I know there are people that I could speak to in my direct circles and it could be the answer to someone’s prayers. Thank you!
